Personal Trainer
A personal trainer is a fitness instructor who will generally work one on one or with a very small group of people. A personal trainer will be able to assess a person’s fitness, discuss their long term goals and then develop a fitness regime to suit that individual’s requirement. The personal trainer will also help their client to try and complete their training and ensure that they stay safe whilst they are training.
Many people prefer making use of a personal trainer’s services rather than just exercising on their own as a personal trainer can demonstrate exercises and techniques to them. Plus a personal trainer can provide their clients with motivation and support as it is a very personal service they provide. A personal trainer can also help their clients to understand what they need to do to maintain their fitness outside of the gym such as providing information about diet.
A personal trainer may be employed by a local gym or fitness centre where they will be able to use the facilities there to train the centre’s clients. Some personal trainers will also work free lance, but pay a subsidy to a gym, allowing them to use their facilities. Some people will pay for a personal trainer to visit them at their own house rather than travelling to a gym or fitness centre themselves.
